After the invasion by the Wehrmacht (April 1941), the Anti-Fascist Council for the National Liberation of Yugoslavia was founded. After the Wehrmacht withdrew, he assumed the official duties of a government. He withdrew the recognition of King Peter II and the government in exile. The Socialist Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia was then founded under the leadership of Josip Broz Tito . On April 7, 1963, it was renamed the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia .
Until January 14, 1953, the government was led by the Prime Minister, then the Presidium of the SFRY was founded, the President of which was the de facto head of government. Nevertheless, the office remained.
