Porte Saint-Gilles	The gate from the 14th century is the oldest surviving building in the former city wall. The arched gate is surmounted by a massive, square pinnacle tower, which is provided with machicolations . town hall	The town hall has been located in the town house of the Brancas -Cheilus family from the 17th century since 1741 . A beautiful carved wooden door can be reached via the main courtyard . Behind it, a staircase with an ornate ceiling leads to the first floor, where two magnificent salons with French-style ceilings and a frieze of paintings can be seen. Clock tower tower with wrought iron bell cage	The 12th century tower belonged to the former castle of the Counts of Toulouse , where the seneschals lived, then the rectors during the papacy . In the 15th century the city decided to install a clock there. At the top of the tower is a weather vane depicting a mouse chasing cat. This led to the local idioms Il est haut comme le chat de Pernes ("He is as tall as the Pernes cat") and Il est au milieu comme le chat de Pernes ("He is in the middle like the Pernes cat") ).
