Town hall Neu-Saar Werden | In 1701 Ludwig Carto von Nassau-Saarbrücken founded a new administrative center for his estates on the left bank of the Saar. The place was built with a road network of right-angled streets. With the political reorganization after the French Revolution, Neu- Saar Werden and Bockenheim were united to form the Saar Union. The town hall had had its day and was a Protestant school until 1956. The building is located in a square in the center of town. It is a two-story plastered building with a crooked hip roof and originally an open portico. The space between the columns was lined with brick and closed with round arches. The entablature and the outermost pillars have been preserved and are visible. Nine simple window axes illuminate the long side of the upper floor, five the gable side. Corner blocks and cornices structure the historical building.
