29th September 2015 Stumbling block for Fritz Richard Pöthig, Dresdner Strasse 26, Wilsdruff.JPG Richard Pöthig, b. 1899, and Johanna, b. 1900, worked in Wilsdruff as administrators in Keils Guts. Both had two sons: Karl-Heinz and Joachim. Richard Pöthig lost his job after a change of ownership and found a new one in a cast steelworks. Presumably as a late consequence of his war injuries while serving with the Saxon Foot Artillery Regiment 19, he frequently suffered epileptic attacks. In 1944 he was admitted to the Arnsdorf State Institution. In April 1944 he was transferred to Großschweidnitz, where he died on June 8th. He and his wife were critical of the Nazi regime.
