Grünewald is a village, including the municipality part of Sella (1999 with 125 inhabitants) with 537 inhabitants (as of 2015). The district area is 13.45 km². A separate cemetery is located in the north of the town on Hohenbockaer Straße .

Grünewald is assigned to the postal code area 01945.

The list includes 16 streets and paths as well as three squares: Dorfplatz (Grünewalde), Dorfaue (Sella) and Platz der Volkssolidarität. Six streets are named after neighboring or more distant destinations, two streets after neighboring objects or local destinations (Am Dorfplatz, Schulstraße), two streets according to landscape conditions (Dorfaue, Sandstraße).
