List of tawanannas

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This list of Tawanannas deals with the Hittite great queens. Those came to their rank by marrying the great king . Since the great queens retained their title all their lives, even after the death of their husband, it could happen that the wife of a reigning great king could not accept the title of great queen, as this office was still held by the wife of her husband's predecessor.

The Hittite chronology is largely uncertain and therefore the government dates of the great queens can only be roughly determined.
