List of Norwegian football champions
The list of Norwegian football champions includes the league champions of the top national division in Norway .
While the national cup ("Norwegian champions") has been awarded since 1902, the league operation was not started until 1937/38. War and German occupation interrupted the league championships. The 1961/62 season lasted 18 months ("marathon season") to determine the top 10 from 16 teams for the new league system from 1963 onwards. Since this reorganization, all encounters have taken place within a calendar year.
The record champions are Rosenborg Trondheim : The club has won 26 titles so far, 13 of them in a row between 1992 and 2004.
