List of Scandinavian metal bands
The list of Scandinavian metal bands includes well-known Scandinavian music groups from the metal genre . Hard rock bands are only included in the list if they also play metal.
Inclusion criteria for the list are:
- a separate Wikipedia article
- proven international presence
- the character of a supergroup of members of other metal bands
Meeting one of the criteria is sufficient.
The genre names in the list are abbreviated as follows: "BM" - Black Metal , "ExtM" - Extreme Metal , "FM" - Folk Metal , "PaM" - Pagan Metal , "PrM" - Progressive Metal , "VM" - Viking Metal . In the column “Dt. Name ”should be the German translation of the band's name and the language of the lyrics in the“ Language ”column.
