The list of Norwegian metal bands includes well-known Norwegian music groups from the metal genre . Hard rock bands are only included in the list if they also play metal.

Inclusion criteria for the list are:

  • a separate Wikipedia article
  • proven international presence
  • the character of a supergroup of members of other metal bands

Meeting one of the criteria is sufficient.
