Tantara is a Norwegian thrash metal band from Vestfold . The band is under contract with Indie Recordings and has so far released a studio album.
history
In September 2009 the drummer Stian Sannerud and the rhythm guitarist and singer Fredrik Bjerkø decided to turn their joint project into a real band. A short time later, Per Semb, with whom the two founding members had played in other bands before, joined as lead guitarist . In September 2010 the band was completed by bassist Bjarke Haakenstad, an old classmate of Stian Sannerud. During the year the Demo Demo 2010 and the EP Human Mutation were released.
Bjarke Haakenstad left the band in April 2011 and was replaced by the Swede Max Warnby. The band then traveled to the Danish capital Copenhagen in July 2011 to record their debut album Based on Evil under the guidance of Flemming Rasmussen . The theme song was released as a single that same year . The album should be released in 2011. However, the actual publication did not take place until August 2012.
style
Tantara play Thrash Metal, which is heavily influenced by the bands of the San Francisco Bay Area . In interviews the musicians name bands such as Heathen , Testament , Anthrax , Slayer , Metallica and Exodus as their main influences. The trade press compares the band to Violence , Cyclone Temple or Vektor .
