The Carburetors is a Norwegian hard rock and heavy metal band from Oslo . The band itself describes their style as "Fast Forward Rock 'n' Roll". Eddie Guz also sang the first two albums of the heavy metal band Chrome Division .

Band history

The Carburetors were founded in 2001 by Eddie Guz (actually Edwin Gustoff, vocals ), Kai Kidd (Kai Kristiansen, guitar ), Stian Krogh (guitar), King O'Men (Gunnar Lung Wang, bass ) and Chris Nitro (Christopher Lindahl, drums ) founded. Her single Burning Rubber was released on Sneaker Records in the year she was founded. The second single Fast Forward Rock'n'Roll followed in 2002 . After the group switched to Facefront Records, their debut album Pain Is Temporary, Glory Is Forever was released in 2004 . The band is known for their pyro show and guitarist Kai Kidd's fire insert for the song "Fire It Up".

In 2005 there were contributions for two tribute albums , one for Kiss and one for the Ramones . In the same year Eddie Guz joins the Chrome Division project , with which he sings two albums. In February 2006 the second album Loud Enough to Raise the Dead was released , in Germany it was released via Cargo Records and was only available at the end of November.

In 2008 The Carburetors moved to the German label Bodog Music Europe . Rock'n'Roll Forever was released there in mid-November 2008 , a kind of compilation with nine old but newly recorded pieces and six new songs. The background is that the first album was not available outside of Norway. The album was produced by Uwe Lulis ( V8 Wankers ). In 2009 the band played at the With Full Force Festival. The band also played various gigs all over Europe and often appears at tattoo conventions and in the turbo youth environment . In 2010 the band switched to Evil Wheels Records (distributed by Universal Records ). A re-release Rock'n'Roll Forever has been released there so far , which contains both the remaining tracks from the debut album and the newly recorded songs. Another version of this was released 2 years later on the label I Hate People Records.

The Carburetors have already appeared in supporting acts for Mötley Crüe, Judas Priest, Deep Purple, Rose Tattoo and The Bosshoss, among others. The latter opened up The Carburetors to a new spectrum of fans and again significantly increased their popularity in Germany.

Furthermore, they have already played at numerous festivals all over Europe. a. With Full Force, Mighty Sounds, Devil Side, Anti Fest.

In 2012 they competed in Norway in the preliminary round of the Eurovision Song Contest with their single "Don't Touch The Flame", with which they also made it into the final show.

As part of their 10-year band existence, they gave a big anniversary concert on August 30, 2012 at Rockefeller, Oslo. A 7 ″ single EP of the song "Blood For Blood" and "Blind In Texas", a cover version of the heavy metal icons WASP, was released especially for this purpose

Music genre

The band name means carburetor in German , a component of internal combustion engines in cars, which is rarely used today in favor of modern injection systems , but is used in particular in stock car races and in older cars. The band plays old school rock of a newer nature, albeit with rock 'n' roll and boogie elements, and refers to role models such as AC / DC , Motörhead , Mötley Crüe and The Bones .
