Man the Machetes is a Norwegian hardcore / metal band from Trondheim .

history

The band was founded in 2011. First the drummer Per Holm and the bass player Erik Larsen met the guitarist Erlend Sætren at a party . Later came singer Christopher Iversen and guitarist Morten Carlsson added. The band name is derived from the album Young Machetes by The Blood Brothers . The musicians rehearsed in a German bunker from the Second World War .

Man the Machetes played numerous concerts in support of bands such as Gallows or Kvelertak and performed at various Norwegian festivals . The band was also awarded the Ukas Urørt prize by the radio station NRK P3 . In August 2012 the musicians flew to Toronto to record their debut album under the direction of producer Eric Ratz. Three months later, Man the Machetes were signed to Indie Recordings . Idiokrati was released on January 29, 2013, the follow-up album Av Nag on August 21, 2015.

style

Man the Machetes play a mix of hardcore, metal, punk and pop . The band is often compared to Kvelertak. The texts are written in Norwegian .
