The Blood Brothers was a hardcore punk band from Seattle , USA that was formed in 1997 and officially split on November 8, 2007. Due to the partly experimental music, the band is also assigned to the post-hardcore genre and is often compared with groups like At the Drive-In and Refused . Stylistically striking was the interaction between the two main vocalists, who differed significantly in their pitch.
Band history
The band released five albums and worked with producers like Matt Bayles (including Isis , Mastodon ; March On Electric Children ) and Ross Robinson ( ... Burn, Piano Island, Burn ). The fifth album Young Machetes was recorded together by Guy Picciotto (including Fugazi ) and John Goodmanson (including Sleater-Kinney ). The latter was already responsible for the production of crimes .
While the first albums were released by small independent labels, Crimes and Young Machetes appeared on the larger label V2 Records . Both works reached the Billboard 200 charts, with Crimes reaching number 157 and Young Machetes reaching position 92.
After the split, all five band members found new bands. Johnny Whitney and Cody Votolato formed Jaguar Love with Jay Clark (previously with Pretty Girls Make Graves ) , while the other three members (Jordan Blilie, Mark Gajadhar and Morgan Henderson) continue as past lives with Devin Welch .
