Héctor Facundo "Lito" Vitale (born December 1, 1961 in Villa Adelina , Province of Buenos Aires ) is an Argentinian rock musician who is active as a keyboardist and pianist, drummer and composer.

In 1975 Vitale founded the Los Músicos Independientes Asociados (MIA), a project in which a total of around 50 musicians, as well as sound engineers, lighting technicians, etc. participated. Four albums were made here by 1979. During this time he was also a member of Luis Alberto Spinetta's band Spinetta Jade and worked with Dino Salvazi and Manolo Juárez .

In 1980 he produced his first own album, Sobre Miedos, Creencias y Supersticiones . In 1985 he joined forces with Bernardo Baraj and Lucho González to form the group El Trio , whose debut album of the same name sold around 35,000 times. In a second trio he worked with González and Jorge Cumbo . In 1988 he founded the Lito Vitale Cuarteto (with Marcelo Torres , Manuel Miranda and Christian Judurcha ), whose debut album Ese Amigo de Alma was sold 200,000 times in Argentina alone.

From 1992 to 1995 and from 1998 to 2000 Vitale had a late night show on Canal 13 in which he introduced popular musicians and music and to which he also invited actors, painters and journalists. The show was awarded the Premio Martín Fierro in 1994. Since the 1980s he has also composed music for television and cinema films. He released a selection on the 1995 album Pantallas . In the same year the album La memoria del tiempo was released with arrangements of classical compositions, on which Vitale himself a. a. the singers Mercedes Sosa , Jairo , Sandra Mihanovich , Litto Nebbia and Juan Carlos Baglietto took part.

In 2003 Vitale presented the program Un solo destino with his quintet and guests Ernesto Snajer , Diego Clemente , Guido Martínez , Pipi Piazzolla and Martín González . In 2005 he released the album Vivo en Argentina with a new quartet . In 2007, El otro was the first album on which Vitale can be heard as guitarist and singer.
