The Little Ossipee River is a right tributary of the Saco River in the southwest of the US state Maine .
It forms the drain of Balch Pond not far from the New Hampshire border . From there it flows in a predominantly east-northeast direction through York County . It flows through Shapleigh Pond and then through North Shapleigh . It flows through the town of Newfield and shortly thereafter the artificial lake Lake Arrowhead . It then turns north and joins the Saco River east of Limington . The Little Ossipee River is 54 km long. Its catchment area covers 486 km².
