The Little Wanganui River is a river in the Buller District in the West Coast region of New Zealand's South Island.

It rises north directly at the Little Wanganui Saddle pass between the Scarlett Range and Allen Range in the foothills of Mount Allen and shortly after the source feeds two mountain lakes, the Saddle Lakes . It then flows first in its valley between Mount Zetland and Mount Lester in a north-westerly direction and then turns in an arc to the south-west.

At Little Wanganui , the Little Wanganui River flows into Karamea Bight in the Tasman Sea . The Wanganui Track hiking trail runs along its course .
