geography

The river has its source approx. 20 km southwest of the Aboriginal settlement Malgawa in the west of Arnhem Land . It flows to the northeast and flows into the Arafura Sea at the Aboriginal settlement of Maningrida . Because of its low gradient in the middle and lower reaches, the river has a wide flood plain with many canals and water holes.
