View from the small to the Grosse Lobhorn

The Lobhörner are a group of peaks in the Bernese Oberland in Switzerland . Its highest peak rises to 2566  m above sea level. M.

The Lobhorns form part of the ridge between the Saxettal in the north and the Soustal in the south. They rise from this ridge as prominent peaks and with this shape are atypical for the region, as they are more reminiscent of the Dolomites . The group of prongs consists of two parts; the small Lobhorn ( 2519  m above sea level ) and the large Lobhorn ( 2566  m above sea level ), the most imposing of the spikes, to which four other smaller spikes connect.

While the small Lobhorn is easily accessible for mountain hikers, the Grosse Lobhorn and the smaller peaks can only be reached by climbing. The first ascent possibly took place in 1866 by Gottlieb Wyss; However, the ascent by Heinrich Dübi, Eduard and Max Müller and Markus von Steiger in 1876 is only certain . The starting point for mountain tours in this area is the Lobhornhütte .
