According to the division of the Swiss Alpine Club, the Bernese Pre-Alps are part of the Swiss Pre-Alps in the Canton of Bern . They correspond to the pre-alpine part of the more historically and touristically used designation Bernese Oberland and the Bernese part of the Emmental Alps . The highest peak is the Schilthorn , which is 2970 m above sea level. M. achieved.
Limits
According to Sergio Marazzi’s SOIUSA proposal, which is not internationally recognized , they are subsection 14.II. They border:
- in the west to the Vaudois and Freiburg Pre-Alps separated by Saane , Simme and Muscheren Sense
- bounded in the north by the central plateau (from west to east) Stockental , Zulg , Emmental
- in the northeast to the Lucerne Prealps separated from Emmental , Südelgraben, Mariental, Chringe, Altibach, Lungerersee
- in the southeast to the Unterwaldner Voralpen bordered by the Brünig Pass and Aare
- bounded in the south by the Bernese Alps (west to east) Chlys Hüri , Stigellegi , Simme , Geilsbach , Kandertal , Hohtürli , Sefinental , Trümmeltal , Imfysteren Graben , Grosse Scheidegg , Reichenbach

- Group Dündenhorn - Ärmighorn - Gehrihorn ( B.7 )
- Group Schilthorn - Schwalmere - Morgenberghorn ( B.8 )

- Group Faulhorn - Schwarzhorn ( B.10 )
- Supergroup northeastern Bernese Pre-Alps ( C )

The first two super groups are in the Bernese Oberland . Super group C partly corresponds to the well-known name Emmental Alps .
