The Lucerne Pre-Alps are the part of the pre-Alps in the canton of Lucerne with small parts of the cantons of Obwalden and Nidwalden .

You will be treated in an alpine guide from the Swiss Alpine Club together with the Schwyz Pre-Alps and the Unterwaldner Pre-Alps , and sometimes you will be guided alone. According to SOIUSA they are the supergroup 14.III.A. You are in subsection 14.III. Lucerne and Unterwaldner Voralpen .

The Pilatus massif is Lucerne's local mountain, but it is not entirely in the canton of Lucerne, but on the border between the cantons of Lucerne, Obwalden and Nidwalden. Its highest peak, the Tomlishorn ( 2128  m above sea level ), lies on the border between the cantons of Obwalden and Nidwalden, the second highest peak Esel ( 2118  m above sea level ) in the canton of Obwalden. Only the Widderfeld ( 2075  m above sea level ), a third peak of the Pilatus massif , borders the canton of Lucerne.
