Unterwaldner Voralpen
The Unterwalden Pre-Alps (also Engelberg Alps ) are the middle part of the Central Swiss Pre-Alps . According to SOIUSA they will be a supergroup 14.III.B. within subsection 14.III. Lucerne and Unterwaldner Voralpen (SOIUSA) .
Limits
According to SOIUSA, the Unterwalden Pre-Alps border :
- In the north on the Mittelland , separated from Lake Lucerne
- in the east to the Schwyz Pre-Alps , bounded by Lake Lucerne
- in the southeast to the Urner Alps , separated from Haslital , Gental , Jochpass , Griessental , Grosstal and Isital
- in the west to the Lucerne Prealps , separated from the Sarner Aa and Sarnersee
- in the southwest to the Bernese Pre-Alps , bounded by the Brünig Pass and Aare

The most important peaks are in the southeastern area, northeast of the Griessental bordering the Urner Alps .
