The Jochpass is a central Swiss pass between the cantons of Bern and Nidwalden .
location
The Jochpass connects the Engstlenalp in Gental over the nidwaldnerischen Trüebsee with the obwaldnerischen Engelberg in Engelberg . The pass is at 2207 m above sea level. M. , on the yoke between Graustock and Jochstock .
The Jochpass mountain inn is located on the pass and was completely renovated in 2013/2014. Next to it is the small Jochseeli.
tourism
A mule track that is used by hikers and mountain bikers leads over the pass . In addition, chairlifts lead from Engstlenalp as well as from Trüebsee to the top of the pass.
The Jochpass is the highest point on the four lakes hike from Engelberg to Melchsee-Frutt . From the Joch Pass, when the weather is nice, you can see the nearby Titlis , the highest mountain in the region, and in the opposite direction to the Bernese Alps . Other surrounding peaks are Graustock , Rotsandnollen and the three-thousanders Reissend Nollen , Klein Titlis and the Wendenstocks .
