The Bunderchrinde is a 2385 m high Swiss mountain crossing in the Bernese Alps . It connects Adelboden in Engstligental with Kandersteg in Kandertal .
location
The Bunderchrinde forms a cut between the Lohner massif in the south and the Chlyne Lohner and Bunderspitz massif in the north. According to the SOIUSA classification, this is also the border between the Bernese Pre-Alps (in the north) and the actual Bernese Alps (in the south). The top of the pass consists of a deep notch in the rock ridge.
Hiking routes
The path over the Bunderchrinde is part of the Hinteren Gasse , which crosses the Bernese Oberland, and the Via Alpina , a long-distance hiking trail through the entire Alpine arc. The ascent takes about 3 hours from Adelboden or about 4 hours from Kandersteg .
