The Männlichen is 2342 m above sea level. M. high summit in the Bernese Pre-Alps . From Wengen from leading cable car Wengen-Männlichen (LWM) from Grindelwald the gondola Grindelwald-Männlichen (GGM) to the masculine. The mountain stations of the railways are located at around 2230 m above sea level. M. on a flatter ridge south of the summit. The actual summit can be climbed from there via the “Royal Walk” in around 30 minutes.
The Männlichen is known as a vantage point with an excellent view of the three peaks of the Eiger , Mönch and Jungfrau , and as a starting point for mountain hikers and skiers . 20 cable cars and lifts open up the Kleine Scheidegg -Männlichen ski area with over 100 km of slopes in winter . When it opened, the Grindelwald-Männlichen cable car was the longest cable car in the world. In addition to the cable car, the Männlichen can be reached on foot from Grindelwald on a road in about four hours, or from Wengen in about three hours on a narrow footpath with a height difference of over 950 meters at 1.8 kilometers as the crow flies enables.
Although the Männlichen is lower than the Tschuggen ( 2521 m above sea level ) and the Lauberhorn ( 2472 m above sea level ), the chain of these three mountains is named after the Männlichen, for example as the Männlichen group (B.9) within the SOIUSA division of the Bernese Prealps .
