Loch Dee is a freshwater lake in the Scottish Lowlands. It is located about 17 km west of New Galloway in the Council Area Dumfries and Galloway . Although the lake is located in Galloway Forest Park , its banks are largely unforested. There are no roads to Loch Dee. The lake is only accessible via forest trails. By car you can approach a maximum of 4.5 km from the west via the A712 .
Loch Dee is about 1.8 km long and a maximum of 700 m wide. The lake has a surface of about 1 km² and lies at an altitude of 225 m. It drains over the River Dee , which was dammed about seven kilometers southwest of Clatteringshaws Loch . The catchment area of Loch Dee covers 15.6 km².
There are no localities or other settlements on the lake. Loch Dee, where brown trout and pike can be caught, is popular with anglers. The lake is part of the British Government's Environmental Monitoring Program, which continuously records environmental data from 57 locations in Great Britain .
