The Loddon River is a river in the southwest of the Australian state of Tasmania .

River course

The river has its source on the southern slopes of the Loddon Range on the northern border of the Franklin Gordon Wild Rivers National Park . From there it flows to the northwest, parallel to the Lyell Highway and the Surprise River , about four kilometers further south. About three kilometers southwest of Junction Peak it flows into the Franklin River .
