In 1963 and 1964, the Ute Dam was built, which dammed the water of the Canadian River to Ute Lake and which is also provided with a flood relief . Because of its geographical location, Logan is sometimes referred to as the Best Little Village by a Dam Site , loosely translated as "The most beautiful small town on a dam".
