Logic & Olivia is a German electro-pop band founded in 1999 .

history

The band was founded on October 1st, 1999 by René Anke (vocals), Matthias Trompelt (keyboard) and Tino Weigel (electric guitar) under the name "Darkcore" in Aue / Schwarzenberg in the Ore Mountains in Saxony . They combine catchy synth-pop melodies and pounding EBM rhythms with a distinctive singing voice that characterizes both the German and English lyrics. Their musical roots are in the 80s, the stylistic spectrum ranges from danceable electro sound to alternative, rockier sounds.

Darkcore

After first appearances in Chemnitz , Schneeberg and Lichtenstein , the first negative album followed in 2000 . Lack of solvent partners in 2001 released EP was passing produces itself and privately sold.

In the summer of 2002, Darkcore made their open-air debut as the opening act at the Philharmonic Rock Festival in Netzschkau .

In addition to songwriter Anke, Weigel now also contributed his first own composition to the repertoire. He also expanded his range of instruments and also played live on e-drums. The album LIEBE + TOD increased the fan base and the album Timebreaker , released the following year, had reached a level of maturity and quality that the band had been working towards for a long time.

At the concerts that have become rarer for private reasons, for example in Lauter / Sa. After 18 months of work, the songs of the following album Sommerkrieger , which have become more emotional but also more adventurous, were presented.

With 99/02 Die neue Version , the band presented a best-of album in 2005 , on which old hits were re-recorded and produced.

In 2006 the album, Immortal, was released, with which the band achieved a style that they had always wanted to create through expressive electronic sounds and catchy melodies.

Logic & Olivia

After a long break, the band started again in 2012 under the band name Logic & Olivia , also to distinguish themselves from musical interpretations that were occasionally associated with the old name. The current album Playground of the past will be released on the German label Danse Macabre in March 2012 with a little more rocky influences .

Don´t look back is the follow-up album to Logic & Olivia in 2014.

After Kalle Vogel joined the band as a drummer in 2014 , the trio initially became a four-piece band. At the beginning of September 2015, however, Tino Weigel left the band for personal reasons.
