history

On February 11, 1950, the Zimní stadión města Plzně , an open-air ice rink with a capacity of over 14,000 spectators, opened in Pilsen . The roofing of the ice rink was built from 1966 to 1969, whereby the capacity sank to the present value. In 1973 the construction of another ice rink began, which is used for training purposes and public ice skating.

In 2006, the energy company ČEZ became the name sponsor and the new name was ČEZ Aréna. The owner of the ice rink is the city of Pilsen. The building complex still includes a swimming pool with sauna, solarium and a physiotherapy area.

In 2015, the ČEZ Group reduced its sponsorship money in ice hockey and ended the hall's name sponsorship. The new sponsor was Biotronik Praha , whose medical product Home Monitoring was then part of the name of the arena. In August 2019, a new four-year contract was signed with Logspeed CZ , which brings HC Plzeň a total of 15 million CZK .
