The Lohmühle pond in Hohenlockstedt is earlier than millpond unused pond in Steinburg in Schleswig-Holstein . It is around four hectares in size.
The pond and part of its surroundings have been under landscape protection since 1963 . A nature trail about one kilometer long leads around it . The bathing area on the bank is one of three bathing areas located on still waters in the Steinburg district , with the Großer Tonkuhle in Itzehoe and the Luisenbad in Schenefeld , whose bathing water is continuously examined for water quality due to EU requirements.
