Loni ( Hindi लोनी Lonī , Urdu : لونی ، بھارت) is a city in the Ghaziabad district of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh .
geography
The city is located a few kilometers east of the banks of the Yamuna and borders the northeast of the metropolis of Delhi . State Highway SH 57 runs through the city .
population
The 2011 census showed a total population of 516,082 residents. Of these, 275,025 (52.8%) were men and 241,057 (47.2%) were women. The literacy rate in the city is 72.14% (80.11% of men and 63.03% of women). 107,800 people (equivalent to 20.89% of the total population) live in slums. Hindi and Urdu are spoken in the city (mainly by Muslims).

With 319,707 believers (61.95%), Hinduism is the most common religion in the city, followed by Islam, which is followed by 190,348 (36.88%) of the citizens. The Jainism hanging in 2386 (0.46%) of the population. Only 1,184 people (0.23%) in the city are Christians.
