history

Loo-Ferenbach was a civil parish until the late 19th century. Together with Zwillikon, Oberaffoltern and Unteraffoltern , the civil parish was divided into the political municipality of Affoltern am Albis. The village of Ferenbach was first mentioned in a document in 1309 as "ze Verenpach". On the Gyger map from 1667, the castle of the Lords of Loo is drawn in the village of Loo to the right of the Jonenbach . It is not known whether there was a connection to the destroyed castle of Hedingen (1510). In 1820 a number of human skeletons were found in a gravel pit near Ferenbach, all of which were lined up. The background is not known.
