Loonalaid ( German  Lettenholm , Swedish Letenholm ) is an Estonian island in the Baltic Sea .

Location and description

Loonalaid is the largest island in an archipelago west of Saaremaa . It is located about a kilometer northeast of the westernmost point of Estonia, the island of Nootamaa .

Loonalaid administratively belongs to the rural community Saaremaa in the Saare district . The area of ​​the island is 1.08 square kilometers. The highest point is 5 meters above sea level.

The island is part of the Vilsandi National Park . Fauna and flora are under comprehensive nature protection.

Loonalaid is uninhabited today. The remains of a dwelling with a sauna , cellar and well can still be found on the island .
