Lore Leher
Lore Leher (born March 29, 1926 in Leipzig ; † August 29, 2017 in Wolfratshausen ) was a German author and translator of children's and youth literature .
Life
Lore Leher grew up as Hannelore Müller-Hahn in Berlin. Because her father, the journalist Georg Müller-Hahn, was Jewish, she had to leave high school early in 1941. Until the end of the Second World War , she worked as a domestic worker and in a factory.
After the war, Lore Leher studied languages and social pedagogy and wrote his first poems and plays. From 1954 she lived in Munich and worked there in the city's youth work. She became a member of the Schwabing Water Lily Circle . In 1956 she married a colleague. After the birth of a son in 1960, she began to write texts for children's books - mostly in rhyme form. From 1971 Lore Leher worked as a social worker with foreign children in a psychological counseling center. Retired in 1986, she lived in the Bavarian foothills of the Alps .

The Engelbert Dessart-Verlag , Mainz, published Benedikt the funny badger in 1965 and Sandmann and the Sackpeter in 1966 , the latter in collaboration with Lore Hummel ; 1967 in Herder Verlag with illustrations by Eva Hohrath Monika's picture book and in Sigbert Mohn-Verlag, Gütersloh, 1968 The old linden tree Gundula , illustrated by Ursula Kirchberg , which immediately made it into the shortlist for the German Youth Literature Prize in 1968 , which both in 1969 with Isidor and Adebar from 1968 succeeded again.
In the same year, Herder launched the long-seller The Colorful Message in a Bottle with illustrations by Hetty Krist , in 2003 and 2006 with illustrations by Astrid Krömer in the Kerle Verlag of the Herder publishing group as a message in a bottle, swim over the sea . In addition to other works, Lore Leher worked as a reviewer for books for children and young people, and numerous translations from English and Italian also shaped her work. 2010 appeared to her for decades out of print picture book The old lime Gundula in new edition at monuments publications of the German Foundation for Monument Protection .
