Lorenz Bodock

Lorenz Bodock , also from Bodock , Bodocki and Latinized forms such as Bodockius and Bodockerus (born August 9, 1607 in Posen , † March 22, 1663 in Hamburg ) was a professor at the University of Rostock .

Life

Lorenz Bodock was of the Catholic faith and later converted to Lutheranism , from which he suffered in his later life. He worked as a high school teacher in Riga . He was then Master of Arts, which received licentiate and legal doctorate . With all three appointments, it is unknown when and where he received them.

On February 3, 1641, the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Rostock appointed Bodock as a full professor of eloquence after he had previously taught at the faculty. His predecessor was Johann Raue . In the summer semester of 1661 he held the 479th rectorate .

Bodock held the professorship until 1661. He was succeeded by Michael Pancratius (1632–1690).
