Lorenz Hagen

Lorenz Hagen (born July 21, 1885 in Amberg , † July 23, 1965 in Munich ) was a German trade unionist and politician ( SPD ).

Life

After 1933, Hagen was imprisoned in the concentration camp several times . After the end of the Second World War he was elected President of the newly founded Bavarian Trade Union Federation in 1947 and remained so until its dissolution on September 14, 1949. Until 1955, Hagen was then chairman of the DGB regional district of Bavaria .

As a member of the SPD, Hagen was a member of the Bavarian State Constitutional Assembly in 1946. From 1946 to 1954 he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament . As a delegate of the Bavarian State Parliament, Hagen was a member of the first Federal Assembly , which elected Theodor Heuss as the first German Federal President in 1949 .

Hagen was awarded the Great Federal Cross of Merit in 1955 . On June 20, 1958, he was awarded the Bavarian Order of Merit by the Bavarian Prime Minister Hanns Seidel .

His body was buried in the forest cemetery in Munich / Alter Teil in grave no. 96-W-20.
