Lorenz Leiboldt was born as the son of the city judge and customs collector of Lichtenstadt Andreas Leiboldt the Elder . Ä. (* 1561 in Lichtenstadt; † February 23, 1614 ibid) and his wife Magdalena geb. Kistler (* around 1557 in Lichtenstadt; † Monday after Kirchweih 1629 ibid) was born in Lichtenstadt and was possibly named after his grandfather . Leiboldt, who learned the bakery trade, went to Neudek in the Ore Mountains at a young age together with his older brother, later mayor Georg Leiboldt, and in 1622 married the daughter of the city judge there. Originally a Protestant, he took power in Neudek at the time of the Counter Reformation and thus also the denomination changed to the Catholic religion. In 1640 he held the office of city judge. In addition, in 1648 he was appointed by the Count Czernin von Chuderitz as a lordly administrator. In 1656 he took over the office of mayor for the first time together with Christoph Wald, Bartholomäus Leypold and Erasmus Pecher and in 1658 again. He died in 1671. His older brother Johannes Leiboldt was a chaplain in Leipzig, his younger brother was the city judge and mayor of Lichtenstadt Andreas Leiboldt the Elder. J. His son-in-law Martin Stutzig also held the mayor's office in 1686.
