Lorenz Riedmiller

Lorenz Riedmiller (born October 19, 1880 in Egg an der Günz , † July 5, 1960 in Memmingen ) was a German SPD politician . In some sources, so the stenographic records of the Weimar National Assembly, is the last name of "Riedm above referred non-material".

Life and work

After attending primary school , Riedmiller worked as a farm worker.

MP

Riedmiller was a member of the Weimar National Assembly in 1919/20 . On March 28, 1919, he spoke out in the National Assembly against the reintroduction of summer time because it would shorten the sleep of the farm workers. However, the government stuck to its plan because the lack of coal (and the associated energy crisis) required a longer daylight. He was then a member of the Reichstag until 1924 . From 1946 to 1950 he was a member of the state parliament in Bavaria .

Public offices

Riedmiller was Lord Mayor of Memmingen from 1948 to 1952 .

The Riedmillerweg in Memmingen is named after Lorenz Riedmiller .
