Lorenzen Vern-Gagne Wright (born November 4, 1975 in Memphis , Tennessee , † July 2010 ibid) was an American basketball player who was active in the NBA .

NBA

Wright played in the NBA for 13 years. His career began with the Los Angeles Clippers , for which he was active for three years. In 1999 he moved to the Atlanta Hawks . In 2001 a trade followed in his hometown of Memphis. He played for the Grizzlies for five years. It was here that he had his most successful time. He was allowed to play as a starter several times and reached the playoffs three times in a row with the Grizzlies between 2004 and 2006. In 2006 he returned to the Hawks, but could no longer build on his previous achievements. In 2008 he was transferred to the Sacramento Kings as part of a trade involving Mike Bibby . His last NBA station was the Cleveland Cavaliers . In his career Wright came to 8.0 points and 6.4 rebounds in 778 completed games, of which 447 as a starter.

death

Wright disappeared without a trace on July 18, 2010 with a large amount of money. On July 22nd, he was reported missing by his family. One last sign of life was received by the emergency call center on July 19. Wright sent this from his cell phone without saying anything, before the line broke off after ten shots. He is said to have previously sold two cars to a man who is believed to be involved in the drug ring in Memphis and was a suspect in six murders. Wright's body was found in a forest near Memphis on July 28th. Wright's death has not been fully clarified to this day, but it is believed to be a murder . The exact date of death is also unknown. Wright left six children.
