Lorenzo is a city in Crosby County in the US state of Texas in the United States .
geography
The city is located on US Highway 82 in northwest Texas, in the southern area of the Texas Panhandle , is 32 km east of Lubbock and has a total area of 2.7 km² without any significant water surface.
Demographic data
According to the 2000 census, 1,372 people lived here in 472 households and 353 families. The population density was 514.3 inhabitants per km ². The racial the population was composed of 64.65% White, 6.63% African American, 1.24% Native American, 0.07% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, and 25.15% other ethnic groups. About 2.26% were mixed race and 54.01% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 472 households, 36.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them. 57.4% of these were married couples living together. 13.6% were single mothers and 25.2% were non-families. 23.5% of all households were single households and there were people living in 11.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.91 and the average family size was 3.48 people.
32.1% of the population were under 18 years old, 9.5% 18 to 24, 24.7% 25 to 44, 20.3% 45 to 64, and 13.3% who were 65 years of age or older . The median age was 32 years. For every 100 females of all age groups, there were 97.4 males. For every 100 women aged 18 and over there were 88.7 men.
