society

Camarena played demonstrably from the 1922/23 season in the old Liga Amateur de Jalisco for the CD Nacional and was appointed due to his good performance in the national team of Jalisco , which played some friendly matches against teams from the capital in 1926 and 1928 .

General Aguirre, the creator and driving force behind CD Marte , became aware of some of the talented players on the Guadalajara national team and brought them to the capital . One of them was "Yegua" Camarena, who immediately won the championship with the Marcianos after the CD Marte was accepted into the capital league (for the 1928/29 season) .

For the first time in 1931 his affiliation with Club Necaxa can be proven, which developed into the dominant team in Mexico in the 1930s and went down in Mexican football history under the name Los Once Hermanos (The Elf Brothers) . With them Camarena won three more championship titles.

National team

"La Yegua" Camarena made his international debut on March 4, 1934 in a World Cup qualifier against Cuba, which was won 3-2. In the second win against the Cubans (5-0) a week later, Camarena also played a role as in the all-important qualifying game against the northern neighbor USA, which was played in May 1934 and lost 4-2, so that it participated in the 1934 World Cup was missed.

At the 1935 in El Salvador III. Camarena played in all five games in the Central American Championship, which the Mexican national team won convincingly - with a fabulous record of five wins and 29: 5 goals.
