Lorenzo Pasinelli (born September 4, 1629 in Bologna , † March 4, 1700 ibid) was an Italian painter of the Bolognese school .

Life

Lorenzo Pasinelli began his artistic training in Simone Cantarini's workshop and then studied in Rome. He founded his own school, which remained active until 1699. From 1644 to 1658, the prior of the Certosa di Bologna, Don Daniele Granchio, commissioned some important artists working in the city of Bologna to create a cycle with the stories of the life of Christ for the decoration of the Church of San Girolamo. Pasinelli was called to Mantua, Turin and Rome and then returned to Bologna.

His students included Gian Antonio Burrini , Teresa Muratori , Giovan Gioseffo Dal Sole , Giovanni Pietro Zanotti , Giuseppe Maria Mazza , Antonio Lorenzini and Donato Creti .

Works

Among his paintings with a sacred theme are the miracle of Saint Anthony in the Basilica of San Petronio in Bologna and a Holy Family and Resurrection of the Dead for the Church of San Francesco. Of great importance is the painting with the miracle of St. Ursula in the Pinacoteca Nazionale di Bologna.
