Loreto Chapel (Döpshofen)
The Loreto Chapel (also known as Scheppacher Chapel ) in Döpshofen , a district of the Gessertshausen community in the Augsburg district ( Bavaria ), was built in 1601. The chapel is located two kilometers east of the village in the forest, and also about two kilometers north of Reinhartshausen and about two kilometers west of Burgwalden . It is a protected architectural monument .
History and description
The Loreto Chapel was originally built by the Oberschönenfeld Monastery . The nave, which was added in 1741, was demolished again in 1865.
The stucco marble altar from around 1741 is worth mentioning.
