Suderwittingen is a district of the city of Wittingen in the district of Gifhorn in Lower Saxony .

Geography and infrastructure

The place is southeast of the core area of ​​Wittingen.

The Bornbruchsmoor nature reserve is to the southwest .

The B 244 runs through the village . From 1909 the place had a train station on the Wittingen-Oebisfelde line . The last still carried out freight traffic was stopped in 2004. A siding led to a local seed store of the former Raiffeisen AG (today Agravis Raiffeisen ).

On March 1, 1974 Suderwittingen was incorporated into the town of Wittingen together with the former communities Darrigsdorf , Erpensen , Gannerwinkel , Glüsingen , Kakerbeck , Lüben , Rade , Stöcken and Wollerstorf .

Culture and sights

  • The chapel "Holy Three Kings" was first mentioned in 1537. It owns stained glass and etched flashed glass, which were made by Charles Crodel in 1968.
