Rade is a district of the city of Wittingen in the district of Gifhorn in Lower Saxony .

The place is east of the core area of ​​Wittingen. The population is 151 and the area is 5.65 km².

The state border with Saxony-Anhalt runs directly on the eastern edge of the village. The neighboring village to the east is Waddekath , part of the municipality of Diesdorf in the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel .

The nature reserve Ohreaue lies to the southeast.

history

On March 1, 1974, Rade was incorporated into the town of Wittingen together with the former municipalities of Darrigsdorf , Erpensen , Gannerwinkel , Glüsingen , Kakerbeck , Lüben , Stöcken , Suderwittingen and Wollerstorf .
