Aleksandr Ossipov (born August 7, 1987 in Narva , Estonian SSR ) is an Estonian ice hockey player who has been under contract with Borås HC in Division 2 , Sweden's fourth-highest division, since 2017 .

Career

Club

Aleksandr Ossipov began his career as an ice hockey player in his Estonian homeland at Narva PSK , from there he moved to the capital city club Tallinna Eagles in 2006 , with whom he was runner-up in the country. When, in 2007, the Tartu Big Diamonds, an Estonian team for participation in the Latvian Ice Hockey League , was founded, the striker signed a contract there. But after a year the project had to be abandoned for financial reasons and Sibirtsev switched to the reigning Latvian runner-up ASK / Ogre , who played in the Belarusian extra league for a year . Since 2009 he has played for the lower-class Swedish club Varberg HK , which he led from fifth-class division 3 to division 2 in 2011 . Three years later he made the leap to Division 1 with the club from the Kattegat Coast . After moving to league rivals Halmstad HF in November 2016 , where he ended the current season, he joined Borås HC in summer 2017 , with whom he plays in Division 2.

International

For Estonia Ossipov took part in the junior division in Division II of the U18 World Championships in 2004 and 2005 , Division I of the U20 World Championships in 2005 and 2007 when he was team captain of the Estonian selection, and Division II of the U20 World Cup in 2006 .

For the men's national team , he played at the World Championships in Division I in 2007 , 2008 , 2011 , 2013 , 2016 , 2017 and 2018 as well as in Division II in 2009 , 2010 , when he achieved the best plus / minus balance of the tournament, and in 2014 , when he was the top scorer among the tournament's defenders. He was also on the ice in November 2008 for the Olympic qualification for the 2010 Vancouver Games and the 2016 and 2017 Baltic Cup tournaments.
