Vorhop is a district of the city of Wittingen in the district of Gifhorn in Lower Saxony .

The town is located southwest of the core village Wittingen on the country road L 286th
To the southeast of Vorhop is the Gagelstrauch nature reserve near Vorhop . The Elbe Lateral Canal runs to the west . Vorhop is a stop on the Braunschweig – Wieren railway line .
history
The first known documentary mention of the place took place in 1340.
On March 1, 1974, the Vorhop community was incorporated into the Knesebeck community , and on April 1, 1974, the Knesebeck community became part of Wittingen.
Vorhop also included the Malloh and Transvaal residential areas .
