The Agravis Raiffeisen AG is a farm of five main cooperatives in Germany and one of the largest companies of agricultural trade in North Germany .
history

The company was created in October 2004 through the merger of Raiffeisen Hauptgenossenschaft Nord AG (RHG) in Hanover and Raiffeisen Central-Genossenschaft Nordwest eG (RCG) in Münster.
The Raiffeisen Hauptgenossenschaft Nord AG was founded in 1893 under the company name Raiffeisen Hauptgenossenschaft eGmbH with the aim of acting as the central marketer for four consumer associations and 64 individual members at that time. On the 25th anniversary of the main cooperative in 1918, it had 449 individual members and 278 cooperatives as members. This development continued with increasing sales until it leveled off at the equivalent of one billion euros in the 1980s. With reunification, the main Raiffeisen cooperative also became active in the new federal states (especially Saxony-Anhalt, Brandenburg and Berlin) and supported the establishment of cooperative structures by investing in warehouses, central crop protection stores, agricultural engineering distribution centers and building material bases. For the company's centenary in 1993, the name was changed to Raiffeisen Hauptgenossenschaft Nord Aktiengesellschaft , under which the company was active on the market until it merged with Raiffeisen Central-Genossenschaft Nordwest eG (RCG).
