Lost on You is a song by the American pop and folk singer Laura Pergolizzi aka LP . The song reached the top 5 of the single charts in many European countries and was awarded four times platinum by the Italian music industry .

The song and its content is about a failed relationship in the singer's life. With Lost on You , the singer processes the pain that she felt then and still today because of the breakup. She admitted to ARD that she felt part of the pain processing by having published the song and singing it in front of a huge audience today. She says she still wears the scars of separation on her skin, but is very proud of the song's success.

Music video

In the music video for Lost on You , Pergolizzi can be seen alternating with a red-haired woman. The woman is model Laura Hanson Sims. LP knows her well in her private life, but has no close relationship with her. LP often looks longingly in the music video and drinks to get over the grief. It thus represents its own character, which also has rough edges. At the end of the music video, Pergolizzi's friend Lauren Ruth Ward can be seen kissing her passionately in the final seconds of the video. Also seen in the video is Pergolizzi's band member, bassist Brian Stanley.

Although Lost on You has existed since November 2015 and she had already played the song to various record companies, it initially had no chart success. In May 2016, however, it made it to number one on the Greek charts . The song held this top position for 18 weeks, making it the most successful song of the year in Greece. Billboard cited the reason for their success that many vacationers listened to their music on the beach and then the song could spread over Greece over the summer months. At the end of June 2016, the song also hit the French and Italian charts. In France the title also reached the top position . In Italy, the song reached a top 5 position and also stayed in the top 10 of the single charts for over three months. The song was then awarded double platinum. In Poland it was also number one on the official charts.

Lost on You reached position 42 in the single charts in Germany . In Austria the single reached position four and in Switzerland position five in the charts. In the German airplay charts, the single reached position 62 in seven chart weeks. Furthermore, the single reached the top position in Belgium (Wallonia) , France and Poland . In many Eastern and Southeastern European countries that do not have any official charts, the song reached top positions in unofficial airplay and download shop charts. The song made it to number one on the iTunes charts in a total of 17 countries, and Shazam made it to number four of the most streamed songs. The song was also featured in the annual hit parades in Belgium and Switzerland.

For LP it is the first chart success in the single charts across Europe.
