Lothar Bauer (folk musician)

Lothar Bauer (born February 6, 1928 in Wolfsbach ; † August 13, 2018 ) was a German folk musician and chairman of the Oberpfälzer Volksmusikfreunde .

Life

Lothar Bauer was a full-time teacher. He was a co-founder and from 1978 to 1996 first chairman of the Oberpfälzer Volksmusikfreunde. He published numerous sheet music and supervised and directed several folk music groups. He also played in a duet with his wife Johanna "Hanna" Bauer. Bauer lived in Wenzenbach for a long time and most recently in Regensburg .

For his contributions to the Bohemian folk music he was in July 2018 by the Bavarian Interior Minister and patron of Nordgautages Joachim Herrmann with the Nordgaupreis of the Upper Palatinate Culture Federal excellent. He died at the age of 90. His body was in the cemetery of the Sanctuary of the Assumption Dechbetten buried.
